Spatial atmosphere / interior transformation
A private loft conversion, administered end-to-end. Concept, detailed design, contractor procurement and coordination of all trades through to handover. The design brief was atmospheric. A home choreographed around conversation, decompression and calm.
Arrival acts as a moment of release. Stepping in from the city, visual noise gives way to a calm, light-washed interior where controlled sightlines and minimal clutter allow the mind to settle.
Each room carries a distinct emotional tone. The bedroom is warm and grounded in natural textures. The bathroom is defined by continuous microcement, creating a seamless, more still atmosphere.
At its core, the layout is organised around a triangular axis of conversation. Sofa, dining table and kitchen are aligned without obstruction, supporting fluid movement and continuous visual connection. Technology remains concealed. A ceiling-mounted projector replaces the television, while the extractor is integrated within the stove to maintain spatial clarity.
Lighting is designed to be intuitive. A fully integrated Philips Hue system enables programmable moods, allowing the space to shift in response to different moments throughout the day.
The project demonstrates how domestic space can be quietly orchestrated, aligning behaviour, material and atmosphere to support the rhythms of everyday life.
